Sustainment Solutions business area is responsible for, among other things, the sales, offering, and delivery of lifecycle support and software products. The business area also manages strategic partnerships with the Finnish Defence Forces and Patria’s authority business.

We are now searching for a

Business Controller

to support the performance, growth, and strategic direction of our Sustainment Solution Business Area.

In this role, you will act as a key financial partner to business, ensuring strong financial governance, forward‑looking insights, and high‑quality decision support. You will work closely with management and operational teams, requiring excellent communication skills, analytical capability, and the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business impact.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnering & Decision Support

• Act as a trusted financial partner to business unit leadership, supporting strategic and operational decision‑making.

• Provide proactive analysis on financial performance, risks, opportunities, and business drivers.

• Communicate financial insights clearly to various stakeholders.

Financial Planning, Forecasting & Reporting

• Lead the business unit’s monthly performance reporting process.

• Drive accuracy and timeliness in financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with business strategy and corporate requirements.

• Prepare insightful management reporting packages to support leadership discussions and performance follow-up.

Development & Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to selected finance process and IT development initiatives, such as ERP program and the development of integrated financial planning and reporting solutions.

• Proactively drive continuous improvement of processes, adoption of AI, and ways of working within the Business Control team to enhance efficiency, transparency, and decision-support capabilities.

What kind of person are we looking for?

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

• 3+ years of experience in business controlling, financial planning, or similar senior finance roles.

• Strong business acumen with experience in partnering with operational and commercial teams.

• Development-oriented mindset with a genuine interest in improving processes, systems, and ways of working.

• Solid understanding of ERP systems (SAP S/4 is considered an advantage), cost accounting, and manufacturing‑related finance.

• Strong affinity for digital tools and financial systems; being tech-savvy and comfortable working in evolving system environments is considered an asset.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with senior management and external stakeholders.

• Proactive, analytical, and structured working style.
