At Patria, we recognize that the defence industry plays a critical role for collective security, which also goes with important responsibilities to protect sensitive technologies and act with diligence and responsibility.

Patria is firmly committed to respecting and promoting internationally recognized human rights across all our operations and value chains. This commitment is rooted in our core values and fundamental principles of responsibility, integrity, and ethical business conduct, and it is essential to our role as a trusted partner in the defence and security sector.

Our commitment

Patria adheres to the principles of the United Nations (UN) Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labour Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. We are a proud participant in the UN Global Compact and a member of the Global Compact Finland network, reinforcing our alignment with global standards and expectations.

Employee rights at the core

Patria recognizes that respecting human rights begins with our own people.  We are committed to:

  • Ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.
  • Promoting non-discrimination, equal opportunities, and gender equality.
  • Upholding freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining.
  • Providing fair compensation and decent working conditions.
  • Supporting continuous learning and professional development.

These principles are embedded in our internal policies, sustainability program, and ethical training initiatives, as outlined in our broader social sustainability framework.

Beyond our own operations

Patria’s responsibility extends beyond our direct employees. We expect our suppliers and partners to uphold the same high standards of human rights and ethical conduct.

We are committed to performing due diligence on any third party and to deeper integrity due diligence on higher risk business partners. We engage in open dialogue with relevant authorities to ensure alignment with their expectations. As part of industry associations activities, we share the best practices and actively contribute to defining European and global standards.

Through our sustainable supply chain practices and due diligence processes, we work to identify and mitigate potential human rights risks across our value chain.

Patria is also guided by different national and international corporate sustainability requirements, which emphasizes the importance of addressing adverse human rights impacts in global operations.

Transparency and continuous improvement

Patria regularly evaluates its human rights practices through internal assessments and external reporting frameworks, including the Annual Report and UN Global Compact Communication on Progress (CoP). We are committed to transparency and continuous improvement in how we manage and report on human rights topics.
