At Patria, the safety and well-being of our employees is a fundamental priority and an integral part of our social sustainability commitment. We believe that every employee has the right to a safe, healthy, and inspiring workplace – and we work actively to ensure that no one is harmed or endangered while performing their everyday duties.
Patria’s health and safety management system is based on ISO 45001 management system, and it covers 100% of our personnel. The long-term target is to achieve Group-wide certification.
A zero-accident mindset
Patria has set long-term goals of zero occupational accidents and diseases. This ambition is supported by a comprehensive safety management system, preventive actions such as risk assessments, safety observations, occupational safety training, and safety walks. We consistently monitor and improve our safety performance by tracking key indicators such as the Lost Time Accident Frequency Rate (LTIF) and implementing proactive measures including safety observations and comprehensive risk assessments.
Safety practices across operations
Patria has implemented personal protective equipment (PPE) policies throughout its production, logistics, and maintenance facilities in Finland to maintain consistent safety standards. Since November 2024, all employees and visitors in these areas are required to wear safety shoes and glasses, with high-visibility vests provided for visitors. All operating countries have their own PPE-policies, that follow local legislation.
Promoting physical and mental well-being
Patria fosters a culture of care through initiatives that support both physical and mental health. These include:
These efforts contribute to employee satisfaction, productivity, and resilience, while also reducing absenteeism and long-term health risks.
Inclusive and ethical work environment
We are committed to maintaining a workplace free from harassment, discrimination, and unethical conduct. Patria promotes equal treatment, diversity, and fair compensation, and encourages employees to participate in shaping their work environment. Managers are expected to lead by example, upholding Patria’s values and ethical standards.
Patria regularly conducts surveys on equality and non-discrimination, and engages employees in developing safety and well-being practices. We also invest in various training programs, such as Lean Six Sigma, to enhance employee engagement, operational excellence and safety awareness.
