
The defence equipment industry operates in strict compliance with international, European and national laws and regulations. The industry is also regulated by several standards, such as the ISO standards related to the quality of operations and the AQAP standards covering the defence equipment industry. In addition, civil aviation is subject to the EASA regulations and the corresponding US FAR regulations, which are law-like, binding regulations.
Patria provides its aerospace and military customers with equipment availability, continuous performance development as well as selected intelligence, surveillance and management system products and services. Customers include OEM's, defence forces, civil authorities and companies in all around the world.
In addition to Finland Patria has operations in Belgium (Patria Belgium Engine Center SRL), in Sweden (Patria Helicopters AB), in Norway (Kongsberg Aviation Maintenance Services AS) and in Latvia (Patria Latvia SIA and Defence Partnership Latvia SIA). In the Netherlands Patria Netherlands B.V. is approved for the maintenance of fixed- and rotary-wing components in operation concerning both the commercial and defense market.
The Finnish military aviation authority handed over the Military Designs Organisation Approval (MDOA) based on the European Defence Agency’s European Military Airworthiness Requirements (EMAR) to Patria in May 2017. Patria is the first organization to receive the approval in Finland. Corresponding civilian approval DOA is granted by European Aviation Safety Agency, EASA. This civilian approval Patria has had since 2012.
