Patria has a century long heritage on aviation. Based originally on the national needs it has evolved onto services covering through life capability from design to maintenance and training. Capabilities are certified by the competent authorities.

The core of the design capability is based on the extensive structural and avionics design covering on the military side also software, engines and battle damage repairs.

The manufacturing of the composite and metal parts, tubing and wiring according to the aerospace requirements is a key area of our business. The highest requirements for the ultra-light structures were set on space applications (XMM) while the future is experienced in the field of additive manufacturing.

The basis of Patria’s aerospace operations is the Finnish Defence Forces inventory and Patria’s own civil pilot training assets maintenance. It covers airframes, avionics, engines and components. Being also used for extensive repairs and modifications. To support maintenance Patria acts as CAMO for the FDF’s Grob aircraft and civil registered training fleet.

Pilot training in real aircraft and simulators is a part of our service solution. Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) approach is effectively used on daily basis.
