Electronics Engineer, UAS

The Electronics Engineer supports the development of electronic systems for unmanned aerial systems (UAS), contributing to the design, development, integration, testing, validation, and optimization of avionics, power, communication, sensor, and control systems. The role works closely with software, mechanical, systems, and test engineers to ensure reliable, safe, and high-performing electronic solutions throughout the product lifecycle. The position also supports the integration and adoption of new technologies, products, and capabilities into engineering, testing, manufacturing, and operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development, integration, and testing of electronic systems for UAS platforms.

  • Participate in the development of avionics, power distribution, communication, navigation, sensor, and control electronics.

  • Perform circuit design, component selection, schematic development, and hardware integration activities.

  • Support laboratory testing, troubleshooting, validation, and verification of electronic systems and subsystems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful system integration, functionality, and performance.

  • Contribute to technical documentation, design reviews, interface definitions, and engineering reports.

  • Support the evaluation, integration, and deployment of new technologies and electronic solutions within UAS platforms.

  • Support compliance with applicable regulatory, quality, safety, and environmental requirements.

  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to electronic system issues.

  • Design, develop, integrate, and optimize electronic systems and architectures, contributing to the advancement of products and capabilities throughout their lifecycle.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.

What kind of person are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with experience in areas such as electronic systems design, hardware integration and validation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis, as well as technical documentation. Strong collaboration skills, a quality- and compliance-minded approach, and an interest in continuously improving ways of working will also help you succeed in this role.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience in electronic system development, testing, integration, or validation.

  • Knowledge of analog and digital electronics, embedded hardware, and electronic design principles.

  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, and signal analyzers.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in defense, aerospace, aviation, robotics, autonomous systems, or related industries.

  • Familiarity with UAS technologies, avionics, communication systems, navigation systems, and sensors.

  • Experience with PCB design tools, hardware integration, and hardware validation activities.

  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI requirements, environmental testing, and reliability engineering.

  • Understanding of systems engineering principles and product lifecycle processes.
