Patria has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on future cooperation with key state enterprises under the Ministry of Defence – Vojenský technický ústav, VOP CZ and Vojenský výzkumný ústav. The MoUs mark an important step towards involving the Czech defence industry in the project to re-equip the Czech Armed Forces with a new 8x8 wheeled armoured vehicle platform. Patria also has a long-term partnership in the Czech Republic with STV GROUP, a leading Czech manufacturer and supplier of military equipment.

The cooperation aims to build a long-term partnership that, if the project is implemented, would ensure significant domestic industry participation, technology transfer and capability development within Czech state and private enterprises across production, maintenance and further vehicle development. Patria has a proven track record in successful technology transfers across three continents and seven countries.

Patria is offering the Czech Republic the latest version of its combat-proven AMV (Armoured Modular Vehicle) platform, the Patria AMV XP 8x8 CZ. The AMV is in service with armed forces worldwide, with extensive operational experience and proven interoperability. The proposed AMV CZ variants will meet the Czech Armed Forces’ capability requirements and delivery timelines, and foresees a high level of localisation, including in-country maintenance and lifecycle support resulting the local security of supply.

“Patria has decades of proven expertise in the development of armoured vehicles, and technology transfer is a natural part of our business model. Patria AMV XP 8x8 is the vehicle that we have developed the longest: It is the state-of-the-art modular and robust armoured wheeled vehicle providing superior fire power, protection, and mobility. We are delighted to have new countries interested in our AMV XP family and always look forward to fostering enduring partnerships,” says Panu Routila, Patria’s President and CEO.

“The signed Memoranda of Understanding with key state enterprises underscore our commitment to close cooperation with the Czech defence industry and to maximising its participation. We see Czech companies as strong partners, including for the global supply chain. By combining our experience in technology transfer with the capabilities of Czech private and state-owned enterprises, we can deliver an efficient and sustainable solution that strengthens security of supply and meets the Czech Armed Forces’ requirements,” says Jussi Järvinen, Executive Vice President of Patria’s Protected Mobility business area.
