Patria's Engines Unit, part of the Aviation Business Unit, celebrated its 70 year heritage in June 2017. Linnavuori Engines Unit is a significant part of Patria's history but has played an important role in the Finnish aviation history as well.
Today this unit, still located in Linnavuori, is an internationally operating modern unit with high expertise in several types of aerospace engines, their modules, accessories, parts and services. Engines Unit also provides maintenance, overhaul and repair services for high-speed marine and industrial diesel engines.
The history of the Linnavuori unit was present at the celebration, which was attended by many retired Patria employees.
Patria’s President and CEO Olli Isotalo emphasized the role of Patria’s Engines unit in aviation life-cycle support.
"Linnavuori unit and its personnel represents the top know-how in this field. This unit is an integral part of life cycle support services, which are continuously developed in Patria, by for example the development of new repair methods," says Martti Wallin, President of the Aviation Business Unit.
Ville Ahonen, Manager of the Engines unit, pointed out that the event was attended by some of the best engine experts in Finland.
Led by Seppo Tamminen, the history project of Linnavuori unit , will be completed in fall 2017.
Finland 100 theme, the centennial celebration of Finland’s independence was also highlighted in the banquet.
